Watches Tell Time
I have 10 watches. Most of them are Casio. They are mostly digital. Instead of analog watches, I found digital watches tell time precisely to me than analog watches do.
When it comes to time format, 1852 (means 06:52 PM) appears in all of my notes and documents. Because I can tell the exact time with a simple glance. If it is analog, I need to calculate a bit in my head.
But digital watches are not always good-looking or elegant. I once bought a classic digital watch Casio F-91w (it is such a classic style), my friends saw it and asked: why do you buy a kid's watch for? It was embarrassing since I am already an adult. But a few years later, I didn't care about what people say about what watch I wear daily. Watches are tools, they function, therefore they have value. Especially when digital watches are usually cheaper than analog watches.
High-end analog watches often represent one's wealth and taste. They are luxurious, expensive and fragile. We don't always see a "high-end" digital watch covered with diamonds or gold, but high-end analog watches always are. I never had a feeling to those luxury goods.
Time is much more valuable then any luxury goods. This is politically correct but I still want to say it. Owning an expensive, luxurious analog/digital watch will not increase your time you already have. From this perspective, everyone in the world is equally wealthy (This is politically correct too).
Eason Chan has a song: Tourbillion, it's a memoir about time and wealth. I love it very much.
