No AI Feature Please
After 2023, I have hated all developers/companies that brutally add AI-related features to their apps/software. Take Notion as an example: starting with Notion 3.0, I saw "AI" everywhere. There was even a pop-up window that introduced the goddamn built-in AI feature to me(fuck it!). I hated Notion immediately. Then I asked the Notion support team (again today):
Can I turn off all the AI-related features? I just don't need them, they bother me a lot. they just show up everywhere: the bottom-right corner, the left menu, the homepage, the right click, the settings etc
And they responded:
I understand you'd like to turn off AI features. Since you're on the free plan, you have limited options to disable AI elements from the interface completely. You can go to Settings → Notion AI and adjust some settings like turning off "Share data to improve Notion AI" and other AI-related preferences, though this won't remove all AI interface elements . I see you've already shared this feedback with us, and our Product team has received your request for the ability to turn off all AI-related features. They'll consider this for future updates.
It basically means that you have to pay to turn off all AI features. What a dick.
It turns out my life is the same as it was without Notion. Why should I bother using AI features I don't need at all? Why can't developers ask users if they need them or not?
Anyway, everything is my fault. I can just stop using Notion. Fuck'em. There are Obsidian, Anytype, Joplin, Trilium, Notepad etc.
Still, the same curse applies to all apps/software that FORCIBLY add AI features.
